Sicily - Syracuse & The Iblean Gems excursion + Sicilian lunch included

Sicily is a beautiful region of Italy; separated from the mainland it boasts being the largest island in the Mediterranean. It is a popular day-trip destination from Malta because of its close proximity to the Maltese Islands.

On arrival in Pozzallo you will be met by your guides in fully air-conditioned coaches. You will then visit Syracuse (the essence of Greek culture), Magna Grecia, and The Duomo in Ortegia (the world’s oldest and most unique place of worship) before stopping for lunch at La Diga di St. Rosalia. After lunch (summer only) you will have some free time for swimming on the glorious beaches of Marina di Ragusa, viewing the historic buildings of Ragusa Ibla en route. Your last stop will be in Modica where you can visit the baroque buildings such as the San Giorgio Cathedral and have a coffee in Il Corso a typical Sicilian meeting place. Modica is nestled in the Hyblaean Mountains and boats one of the highest bridges in Europe.

Finally you will depart for Pozzallo with a running commentary from your guide.
