Aquarium (Malta National Aquarium)
Description Activity price options
The Malta National Aquarium is home to a large variety of marine life from different parts of the world.
There are 26 display tanks in total which together contain just under a million litres of water. The main tank houses tropical fish, black tip sharks, horn sharks, rays, eels and other exotic species from the Indian ocean. This tank also features a walk through tunnel that allows you to see the fish at close range. There are several tanks dedicated to mainly Mediterranean species including Mediterranean rays and octopus. The fish swim around replicas of historical artefacts that can be found in the sea surrounding Malta, including models of a WWII bomber and the fortifications.
There is also an educational touch pool specifically designed for children who have the opportunity to handle and learn about species such as sea urchins, starfish and crabs.
