Vintage Bus Tour of Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea

During this excursion you will have the chance to see the stunning Three Cities of Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea aboard a genuine 1920s vintage bus, which will meet you from your pick-up point at the Sliema Ferries. The cities were built and fortified by the famous Knights of Malta and the tour begins with a guided drive through Cospicua, or Bormla as it is also known. Next you will head into Vittoriosa to visit this historic city, famed for its long military traditions. These days you can find a number of tourist attractions, including the refurbished Vittoriosa Waterfront. The third of the three cities comes next in the form of Senglea which is a peninsula in shape. In the time of the Knights there was a  a land bridge that connected Senglea and Cospicua. You will hear a detailed English commentary by the vintage bus driver throughout this tour which will help you to appreciate the rich history of Valletta and the Three Cities during the two Great Sieges of 1565 and 1942. At the end of the two-hour vintage bus tour you will be back at Sliema Ferries to meet the coach which will drive you back to your hotel.

Good to know:

• The vintage bus is one of the first two wooden bodied buses purchased in 1921 by the Cottonera Motor Bus Company.
• The buses were licensed to operate routes between Cottonera and Valletta and were made by local carpenters and mechanics.
• You may wish to bring a packed-lunch in case you get hungry.
