If you visit Malta then you must make time to visit its smaller and more tranquil neighbour, Gozo. This guided coach tour will allow you to take in some of Gozo’s most famous sites during a full-day excursion to what is known, according to Greek mythology, as Calypso’s Island.
Once you have made the 20-minute ferry crossing to Gozo, you will start your tour by visiting the world’s second oldest Neolithic temple, Ggantija, dating back over five and a half thousand years. After this impressive pre-historic site you will head to Marsalforn where you will get on a trackless train and enjoy a 40-minute ride, taking in places of interest such as the Salt Pans and the hard-to-reach Salvatur Statue. Next, you will get the chance to sample some traditional Maltese food and see a range of local handiwork at the Crafts Centre. Why not buy a souvenir, like some beautiful Gozitan lace, as a reminder to come back to Gozo the next time you visit? However this is not the end of the tour – there is still more to come. The coach will now whisk you off to beautiful Dwejra. Then it’s off to Gozo’s capital city of Rabat for a look at the fortified Cittadella and a delicious buffet dinner at a local restaurant. From Rabat the coach will head back to Mgarr Harbour to bring you back to Malta by ferry.
